Liwen Liu

Having received a Master’s degree in Indology from Peking University in China, Liwen is doing a doctoral project on Hindu ritual studies. Her dissertation investigates the relationship between ritual theory and ritual text, doctrine and practice by looking at the way in which animal sacrifice is constructed as a configuration of various ritual units on the one hand, and how sacrificial violence is doctrinalized and conceptualized in Sanskrit scriptures, on the other.
