Introductory Courses
Our introductory courses are designed for students with no prior background in classical Tibetan. We begin by learning the Tibetan script, its standard Roman transliteration system, and pronunciation. From there, we move into the fundamentals of Tibetan grammar. Students will build a foundational vocabulary that enables them to read simple sentences without relying on a dictionary. The courses aim to equip students with the essential skills needed to translate classical Tibetan into English, all within a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Intermediate Courses
Our intermediate courses are intended for students who have already completed an introductory class in classical Tibetan. The focus of the course is on translating Tibetan texts and deepening your understanding of Tibetan grammar through close reading and analysis. The courses help students develop greater proficiency and confidence in translating classical Tibetan into English, all within a supportive and engaging learning environment.
