Biography

Stephanie is a doctoral student in the Department for the Study of Religion and the Specialization in South Asian Studies collaborative program. She received her BA and MA in Religious Studies from McGill University. Her doctoral work focuses on the transformation of medical missionary aid in South India from the early twentieth century to the present. She examines how the contemporary provision of medical services is mediated through NGOs and is particularly interested in how those services are received by oppressed caste women.
