Biography : 

Annemiek is a doctoral student in the Department for the Study of Religion. She has a background in Classics, with a BA (Hons) in Classics from Brock University, and an MA in Classics from the University of Toronto, with a focus on Latin language and literature. Her current research focus is on the history and theory of translation, and the practices and ideologies that influenced translations of Christian texts in antiquity. Aside from her academic interests, Annemiek enjoys listening to and participating in choral and piano music, gardening, and reading broadly in poetry and history. She lives in Toronto with her partner, Elliott, and their dog, Lila.
