Kyle Smith Wins Teaching Award

Professor Kyle Smith has won the University of Toronto’s 2015 Early Career Teaching Award.

The Provost office awards it to “faculty members who are effective teachers and demonstrate an exceptional commitment to student learning, pedagogical engagement and teaching innovation.”

Smith is teaching Method and Theory in the History of Religions (RLG312) and Introduction to Christianity (RLG203) at UTM this year. He uses a wide range of methods to engage his students. Smith has developed an online course as part of the Undergraduate Online Course Development program. He regularly uses digital tools in his classroom, such as his Gospels Annotation Project on Genius.
