Alessandra Divina Imbrogno
Alessandra Imbrogno is a graduate of the University of Toronto, where she completed her Bachelor of Arts with a specialization in Religion and Archaeology in 2017. She is currently pursuing graduate studies in Religious Studies, focusing on the intersections of pilgrimage, ritual, and authenticity. Her current research examines devotion to Padre Pio, with particular attention to pilgrimage sites in Italy and Canada, and how questions of authenticity shape the experiences of both pilgrims and researchers. Working under the supervision of Dr. Simon Coleman and Dr. John Marshall, Alessandra is interested in how ethnographic approaches to lived religion can illuminate the dynamics of contemporary Catholic practice. She looks forward to contributing to ongoing conversations in the Department for the Study of Religion and engaging with fellow graduate students.
