Biography
Jear Niklas Doming Karniatu Nenohai is a doctoral student in the Department for the Study of Religion at the University of Toronto. He holds a Master's degree from the Center for Religious and Cross-cultural Studies (CRCS) at Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia, and a Bachelor's degree in Theological Studies from Satya Wacana Christian University, also in Indonesia. His Master's thesis, "Decolonizing Kepercayaan Education: A Case Study of Marapu Indigenous Communities in East Sumba," received awards from both the Nusantara Institute and Gadjah Mada University.
As a Timorese Christian, Jear’s research focuses on the relationship between Indigenous religious traditions and politics, particularly in postcolonial contexts and the digital era.
