Eric Steinschneider

Eric completed a BA in Religion and Japanese at the University of Rochester and an MTS in Religion at Harvard Divinity School. He is now in his second year of doctoral study at the University of Toronto. Eric’s research focuses on the Sri Vidya tradition of Sakta worship, with an emphasis on the early 18th c. intellectual Bhaskararaya. His interests include Hindu Tantric traditions, early modern sectarian formation, and religion and hermeneutics.
