Biography
Poulami Das is a PhD student at the Department for the Study of Religion. She has completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s in History from Presidency University (Kolkata). She has also completed an M.Phil in Modern History from University of Calcutta. The broader themes of her focus include Muslim material practices, cultural memory, and South Asian religion. Her project seeks to understand Bengali Muslim identity by studying the worship and interpretation of ghazi saints in contemporary times.
