Yiftach Fehige is a philosopher and a theologian with an appointment for Christianity and science at the University of Toronto. His home units are the IHPST and St. Michael’s College. He is cross-appointed to the Centre for the Study of Religion, and associated faculty member of the collaborative graduate program at the Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies. In accordance with his interdisciplinary training, Dr Fehige has developed a quite diverse research portfolio. He has been working on the metaphysics of human sexuality, the rationality of theism, the Christian-Jewish dialogue, and thought experiments. His teaching reflects these diverse research interests but focuses primarily on topics concerning the relation between science and religion, Christianity in particular.
Dr Fehige came to Canada in 2007 from Germany after a number of years in Israel. When not worrying about the complex relationship between science and religion or the mysteries of human sexuality, he enjoys doing sports (jogging, karate, skiing, tennis), watching re-runs of Six Feet Under, being the grateful beneficiary of his spouse’s cooking skills, and working on expanding his family.
